Abstract

Overcoming the Dam of Denial + Role Play

Following Dr. Kardaras’ presentation on the Clinical Implications Of The Digital Age, psychiatric nurse and EMF educator Mary Anne Tierney will provide a brief overview of the Stages of Change, or the trans-theoretical model, created by psychologists Drs. Prochaska, Norcross, and DiClemente, with funding from the NIH, to assist health care professionals in coaching patients to overcome dependence and addiction. Several of our expert presenters will join Mary Anne and Dr. Kardaras in role playing how to - and not to - coach patients to begin to overcome their dependence on wireless devices.
